Joyce's first real ride

This weekend I am planning a beautiful but easy ride along the bay for Joyce's first ride outside of her garage. If all goes well I am sure she will be hooked and ready to join the team for real.

Hello! Welcome to our blog! We will be adding entries for the next several months chronicling our adventures (or misadventures) as we train for the California Coast Classic, which will be held from September 29-October 6 to support the Arthritis Foundation. I am a brand-new, beginning, novice, inexperienced, scared, out-of-shape, non-athletic, uncoordinated cyclist, who just bought my very first bike on February 6! I have a beautiful 2006 Trek 5200 road bike that is just begging for rides! My goals will be to get in shape and learn the basics of biking as we get ready for the CCC. The ultimate goal, of course, is to complete the CCC, which will be a journey of a lifetime, as we bike for 8 days down the coast of California on Highway 1. Although I am not a real cyclist, I am more of a gatherer-of-new-experiences, and look forward to prepare myself for this great trip.
