Hello, we are from Stanford University Pediatric Rheumatology and Friends of CARRA. We are posing as a bike-riding team preparing for the California Coast Classic to support the Arthritis Foundation. This 500-mile bike ride takes place from September 29 through October 6, 2007. This blog was created as an ongoing account of the trials and tribulations experienced during our training for this adventure!

So, the first ride was a success. The weather was perfect, the path was flat and Joyce didn't fall :) I can't report how far we rode because my wireless odometer wasn't working. I estimate we rode about 6 or 7 miles. It's not much but it is a start. We then enjoyed some well-deserved guacamole and home-made pizza, Thanks David! The plan is for Joyce to practice starting and stopping, including getting on and off the bike, without fear. GO JOYCE!!
